Obliq Service Center – Elektron Repair

Elektron Repair Session!  Nathan and Jahnavi stopped by and we replaced broken potentiometers on our Elektron MachineDrums and MonoMachines! It was a great evening when we got everything working again!

Here are the basic repair instructions that inspired us to do this ourselves…although we found there wasn’t much of a need to take apart the encoders if you get all the solder with a good solder sucker and wick.

Check out Nate & Jahnavi’s photos of the session!

New Multicast tracks posted!

We have been working this winter on going through the archive and putting a seal on it; we have about 7 or so tracks left to edit down from the last set of shows in 2010 and 2011.  We have recorded some new great tracks (currently doing the finalization of edits) that will also be posted here shortly.  But in the mean time; here are four new Multicast tracks posted on Soundcloud and obliq.net.

Multicast presents aural espianage… "The Spy"

This track was from a live set. The originating track was part of the aural “wall of noise” tracks called Rotation ][ where we lit up the sound system and chilled everyone with a wall of sound. However, one show we took it in a completely different direction…which is the beauty of incorporating impromptu playing with hardware at live gigs.

Hope you have your counter-surveillance equipment rockin’… Enjoy!

June 24, 2011 SW Nebraska Mesocyclone Timelapse – Freq Modif video

Had a great chase with Adam Boggs today, went to the Nebraska panhandle for a slight risk. Nothing was materializing so we decided to go after this discrete supercell well behind the front line of storms. Was able to get about 60 minutes of video shown here.

The music is my band Freq Modif with a track appropriately named Mesocyclone which I’ve been wanting to release for a while.
